IADR Abstract Search Form |
Instructions for Citing AbstractsTo browse, simply select a meeting and click the browse button. To search for criteria, you must type the word(s) in question into the search field above, and click the search button. For both search/browse, you have the ability to restrict the scope as you choose. The 2001 abstracts are searchable by title or author. The search engine has indexed the complete text of all later abstracts, as well as the titles and authors. You may broaden or refine a search by specifying the type of search you wish to conduct
The search is not case sensitive. For simplicity the search engine uses a simple ASCII match on author's names, so please use simple letters (a, e, i, o, u, c) instead of å, é, æ, ç, ö etc. To cite abstracts on the web or CD-ROM please use the following guidelines:
To cite IADR/AADR/CADR abstracts use the information from the table above in the format below: Abstract title and authors, J Dent Res <insert J Dent Res Issue #>(Spec Iss <insert Spec Iss Letter>):abstract number, <insert Year> (www.dentalresearch.org). For example for an abstract from the IADR/AADR/CADR General Session in Baltimore: Abstract title and authors, J Dent Res 84(Spec Iss A):abstract number, 2005 (www.dentalresearch.org). To cite divisional abstracts: Abstract title and authors, J Dent Res <insert J Dent Res Issue#>(Spec Iss <insert Spec Iss Letter>):abstract number (Div/Section name or initials), <insert Year> (www.dentalresearch.org). REMINDER: Abstracts from non-US IADR Division and Section meetings are now ONLINE ONLY. They will not be printed or put onto a CD-ROM. However, they are still citable as being part of a Special Issue of the Journal of Dental Research. Simply include the URL in the citation.
Copyright Law and Reprinting/Duplication of IADR/AADR Meeting Abstracts Abstracts presented at meetings of the IADR/AADR (IADR General Sessions and AADR Annual Meetings) are no longer printed. They are available online and via a CD-ROM given to those attending the meetings, as well as to libraries and other institutions subscribing to the Journal of Dental Research. Because the abstracts are regarded as appearing in a Special Issue of the Journal of Dental Research, IADR/AADR own the copyright to the abstract and the customary copyright rules apply- that is, the abstracts may not be duplicated in any form without the written permission of IADR/AADR. That permission must be requested in writing (electronically or on paper). To obtain permission, send a letter (via e-mail or “traditional” means) listing the abstracts for which permission is being requested. Please specify the purpose for which the reprints will be used, the quantity desired, and the date the reprints are needed. In most cases, a decision will be made within 24 hours of the receipt of the request. If you receive written permission, you must reproduce the abstracts exactly as they appear on the Web site, without addition, deletion or alteration of any kind. You must add the appropriate permissions language, e.g., "Reprinted with permission from the Journal of Dental Research, J Dent Res 86(Spec Iss A):abstract number, URL, 2007" to each abstract. Depending on the number of abstracts and the number of copies involved, the IADR/AADR can print them for you, and can provide a price quote. Please send all reprint requests and requests for further information to:
