Objectives: Denture adhesives could significantly improve retentions of dentures in edentulous and in extremely toothless patients expressing dysfunctions and tremor due to syndrome Parkinson-Parkinson's disease. Aim: to investigate whether subjective problems in acrylic lower denture wearers primarily in therapies by medicaments due to syndrome Parkinson are significantly decreased during chewing because of adhesive applications or problems aren't decreased. Methods: 21(14women-mean age 74 and 7 men-mean age 71) acrylicdenture wearers-patients in therapies by levodopa (Madopar capsulae 0.250g, ICNGalenika) and antidepressives-experimental group and 6 (3 women-mean age 58 and 3 men-mean age 67) upper and lower complete denture wearers with no complaintments were investigated. Under artificial lower molars bilaterally, 0.5 grams of denture adhesives (Fixodentfresh,USA and Protezan, Yugoslavia) were separately applicated onto denturebases in trials. On the basis of durations of chewings of soft foods, of hard foods, of tough foods to swallowings and chewings of combinations of foods to swallowings, improvements expressed by subjective remarks were investigated. Widths of denture flanges were measured ("Iwanson"calipers-pliers form,1/10mm measuring range. Artifitial tooth wearings were measured positioning millimeters on metal-scale onto narrow subsides of mesial-buccal cusps of artificial first lower molars. 3 control examinations of each patient were conducted. Data were processed: Student's t-distributions, coefficients of variation. Results: Hypothesis H1 P=0.51 was accepted determining that in more than 51% of patients in experimental group, quantity of adhesives applicated improve chewings in times on the basis t=2.18 for p<0.05, 25 degreefreedom. Experimental group patients significantly 18.33±6.77minutes longer chewed after applications of quantity of adhesives p<0.001 and cv%36.93. On the basis of reports of all denture wearers examined, Fixodentfresh significantly influence improvements in chewings t2.604>t0.051.96. Conclusion: Applications of denture adhesives on surfaces of bases of acrylic dentures toward lower confinements of artificial chewingcenters improve therapies of toothless jaws in patients primarily diseased due to Parkinson's disease.
