Sponsored by: Implantology Research, Prosthodontics Research, Japan Prosthodontic Society | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Description: The worldwide emergence of nanoscale biology and science has been infiltrated rapidly into surface technology and science of dental implants. The nanoscience includes bio- and chemo-molecular manipulation and nano-topographical modification of implant surfaces, providing the tools, models and technology platforms for the implant biologic research and enabling to explore the next generation implants with improved osteoconductive capacity. The proposed symposia will address potential application and relevance of such science and technology for improving bone-titanium integration by illustrating the recent progress in multidisciplinary research fields. The symposia will cover latest, groundbreaking development of prototype surfaces, such as nanoscale-oxidative modification, peptide-based biomimetic surface, nano-chemo-activation of titanium and a recently-discovered novel physicochemical property of titanium, as well as biological responses to the surfaces. We believe that all of the topics that will be presented will significantly change the current understanding of bone-implant integration and be a candidate technology to make a breakthrough in current implant dentistry.Researchers from multiple fields, prosthodontic research, implant research, bone biology, material science and periodontology, are anticipated to attend this symposia. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
