9:00 AM-10:30 AM Ernest N. Morial Convention Center 292, Symposium - Group/Division Sponsored
Molecular and Cellular Mechanisms in Microbial Pathogenesis

Sponsored by: Microbiology / Immunology and Infection Control, Periodontal Research
Description: The symposium will address the current concepts in microbial pathogenesis and facilitate a critical evaluation of recent advances in our understanding of the pathogenesis of oral bacteria in the context of periodontal and associated diseases. Overall, it will provide an integrated multidisciplinary approach to the host-microbe interface, ranging from innate immunity and cell biology, through bacterial manipulation of host signal transduction, to bacterial genetics and networks of gene regulation.
