Research Diagnostic Criteria For Temporomandibular Disorders: A Hands-On Workshop for Examination Skills Development

Sponsored by: Neuroscience / TMJ, International RCD/TMD Consortium
Description: The purpose of this workshop is to provide direct training of the standardized clinical examination according to the RDC/TMD. The intended audience is (1) dentists who have little or no experience with the techniques, and (2) previously trained examiners who would like to obtain an in-depth review in order to recalibrate themselves. The participants in the workshop will conduct the clinical examinations under the guidance of members from the International RDC/TMD Consortium; these members have participated in multiple calibration studies amongst themselves over the past 5-10 years. The workshop will not only demonstrate clinical examination techniques but also discuss the implications of the diagnostic tests according to the RDC/TMD criteria.
