| [ADEA] Disaster Planning for Institutions: Lessons from Katrina | ||||||||
Sponsored by: ADEA | ||||||||
| Description: Hurricanes Katrina and Rita called into question the preparedness and/or lack of preparedness of educational institutions to meet and recover from a disaster that disrupts the mission and continued operation of the institution. Dr. Eric Hovland, Dean, Louisiana State University School of Dentistry, has acquired, first-hand, knowledge regarding requirements of emergency response and disaster and recovery management brought about by the devastation Hurricane Katrina inflicted upon his dental school. Sharing his experiences, this symposium is designed to guide dental schools in a reassessment or development of disaster and recovery plans essential to continuing the operation of the school | ||||||||
