Devices, biologics, diagnostics, and drug therapies will be among the technologies discussed. The clinical perspective will highlight how new technologies impact the clinician in everyday practice from embracing new technologies to the impact on clinician–patient interactions. The speaker from industry will share insights on the role—and responsibility—industry has in getting new technologies developed and adopted. This will include industry’s role in providing health information to professionals and consumers that ultimately affects behavior change. The insurance perspective will discuss how reimbursement fits into the adoption of new technologies. The speaker will also address the conundrum of prevention v. treatment from the insurance industry perspective. The final speaker will make powerful suggestions on how to change the oral health education system for the better.
