[AADR] Fluoride and Caries Decline

Sponsored by: Behavioral Sciences, Cariology Research, Pharmacology, Therapeutics, & Toxicology
Description: The caries decline observed either in developed or developing countries has been attributed mainly to fluoride dentifrice use and some questions have been raised, which will be the focus of this symposium. Thus, speaker 1 will discuss the evidence and rationale to recommend other sources of fluoride use, in addition to fluoride dentifrice; speaker 2 will present data about the current importance of water fluoridation use; speaker 3 will do an analogy between the mechanisms of action for caries control of systemic and topical fluoride sources, and speaker 4 will discuss how to enhance the effect of fluoride on caries control. Therefore, this symposium is geared toward researchers and clinicians. This program is financially supported by Colgate-Palmolive
