Description: The influenza A viruses are among the greatest human killers. More than 40 million people died from influenza in 1918-19, many more than were killed in WW1. A principal line of defence is the CD8, or "killer" T cell response. The address will focus on how these "hit men" of the immune system work to eliminate virus infected cells and protect us from severe disease and death
