Chinese Medicine in Periodontics

Sponsored by: Periodontal Research
Description: Host responses play the important roles in the pathogenesis of periodontitis and the outcomes of treatment of periodontitis. Chinese medicine has its great advantage in host modulation, which have been used successfully as adjunct therapy for chronic systemic diseases as well as periodontitis in China for many years. The researches on the host modulation mechanisms are being undertaken using medern biomedical sciences. The four speakers of this symposium will present their studies on the effects of the Chinese medicines on immune function,, tissue regeneration, and inflammatory reaction at molecular and cellular levels and at the experimental animal models. It is hoped that attract more interests on the study of Chinese medicine on periodontics
