Methods: Antifungal sensitive test was carried out by dilution method.Minimal inhibitory concentration(MIC) and fractional inhibitory concentration index (FIC)were determined by MTT assay and conventional direct observation assay separately. Results: Usnic acid and Quercetin had better effects on the fungi as compared with other 26 herbs'compositions, with MIC 0.0156~0.03125mg/ml and 0.0625~0.125mg/ml.The sensitive test revealed that Usnic acid and Quercetin had synergetic inhibiting effect on the growth of fungi ,i.e., they could improve each other's antifungal activity. Conclusions: Usnic acid and Quercetin have stronger and wider range antifungal effects and they might be used to treat oral candidiasis and fungal infections caused by other diseases.
