1585 Buccal-dental Traumatisms Displayed in Odontopediatrics Clinic of University Guadalajara México

Objectives: Buccal-dental traumatisms are the second place in pediatrics urgencies, their treatment is diferent than those that can be used in adults, because this involves growth, development and dentition. localization, distribution, treatment, force to go depply into diagnosis and treatment. the point of the study was to know the buccal-dental traumatisms that prevailed during 2003.

Methods: Design: transversal, comparative, descriptive. considered variables: kind of lesions, age, sex, maxillar, afected dentition.

Results: 34 boys and 26 girls were attended, from 1 to 11 years old, 109 traumatism were treated, the most common lesion was on soft tissues. the boys were the most affected, considering factor of risk form 2 to 3 years old, the most affected maxillar was the superior (96.1%).

Conclusions: concluding in the necessity to plan and to administer human resources, materials, as well as to adapt programs to the real necessities of the population that is being taken care of.
