| Oral Microbiology 2004: A Tribute to Toshihiko Koga | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Sponsored by: Microbiology / Immunology and Infection Control | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Description: We will commemorate the life and career of Toshihiko Koga, DDS, PhD by presenting a symposium on an organism that he spent a major portion of his career investigating: Streptococcus mutans. We have chosen friends, colleagues and students of Professor Koga’s all of whom are currently involved in active, funded oral microbiology research as participants in this symposium and have asked them to present their work in such a way that it will bring us up to date on this bacterium. In assembling our speakers an associate of Dr. Koga’s said that he “…always had a foot (both scientifically and culturally) in the United States …” and hence our speakers will come from both sides of the Pacific Ocean to present their talks in Hawaii | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
