Animal Models of Mineralized Tissue Disorders
* Poster files available online

Sponsored by: Craniofacial Biology, Mineralized Tissue
Description: This symposium is designed to provide an update of research in the area of mineralized tissues using animal models. Included will be genetic and non-genetic models that have provided new insights into skeletal disorders impacting bone and teeth. These presentations will be of interest to basic scientists and translational researchers in the area of mineralized tissues. Subject areas of tooth eruption, hormonal controls of the skeleton, extracellular matrix molecules, osteoclast biology, and skeletal metastatis will be covered. Emphasis will be placed on strategies of generating models and sensitve methods of analysis as they relate to the generation and testing of novel hypotheses. At the end of the symposium, attendees will have a better knowledge of new model systems and of the latest research in these areas of skeletal biology
