Description: Dental educators and researchers will benefit from this joint symposium sponsored by ADEA, AADR, and the NIDCR. Tailored for both new and experienced faculty and researchers, the symposium will include an introduction to the fundamentals of oral health clinical research, basics of clinical research design, protection of human subjects, and regulatory issues. In the afternoon session, cases will be presented and discussed by a panel to highlight opportunities for including clinical research in dental schools and the curriculum. A model for obtaining NIDCR funding for clinical trials will also be presented in the afternoon session
