0814 A 24-month Clinical Evaluation of Finesse All-ceramic Restorations
D.M. BARNES, D.L. GEORGE, and E.I. ADACHI, University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, USA

Objective:  The purpose of this study was to clinically evaluate Finesse all ceramic restorations (Ceramco, Inc.) when used in conjunction with a new esthetic resin cement.

Methods:  Forty posterior and anterior crowns, twenty all ceramic inlays and onlays, and twenty-six veneers were placed in forty-three patients.  Standard ceramic preparations were performed followed by conventional polyvinylsiloxane impression techniques using cord retraction.  Calibra (L.D. Caulk) resin luting agent was used to cement the restorations following manufacturer's instructions.

Results:  The restorations were evaluated at baseline (B), 6 months (6M), 12 months (12M), and 24 months (24M) using modified Ryge criteria shown as Alfa percentages:

Conclusion:  The data supports that there were sufficient shades available to obtain desired esthetic result with 99% of all restorations being rated Alfa for shade match to Vita (Vident) shade guide.  Additionally, there were no bulk ceramic fractures.  All restorations evaluated were clinically acceptable after 24 months.  This study was supported by Ceramco, Inc.
