2:00 PM-4:00 PM Svenska Massan G3, Symposium - Group/Division Sponsored
Life-long Learning:- Process and Outcomes
* Poster files available online

Sponsored by: Education Research, ADEA, IFDEA
Description: The concept of life long learning is ingrained into most dental systems and is generally well accepted. However, whereas the process of its introduction has on the whole begun, albeit varying across the different parts of the world, it is the outcomes, which are less well defined. Issues such as revalidation, poor performance, self-assessment of surgical skills are challenging to administer but have opened a rich research theme in education research. The aim of this symposium is to explore the concept of life-long learning in the dental context and the implications, which are arising as it is being implemented. The roles of different stakeholders are considered and the current research and possible future opportunities will be discussed
