GALLOTTINI, Universitą degli studi di Roma "La Sapienza", Rome, Italy Objectives: The most recent research shows that cleaning level of shaped root canal depends not only on shaping techniques, but also on irrigation care. Both chemical and mechanical actions of irrigating substances are effective in removing the debris and in lubrifications of endodontic instruments. The aim of this research was the examination of the effectiveness and the ability to reduce the attrition of two endodontic irrigating system. Methods: Sixty four teeth with single root canals were prepared with mechanical NiTi instrumentation and divided into four groups. Each group was further divided into:group A, irrigated with NaClO+E.D.T.A.,group B irrigated with NaClO and Glyde®.Root canal preparations were performed by manual and mechanical instruments. Results: Scanning electron microscope study (SEM) showed the amount of debris and smear layer on dentinal walls after cleaning. Conclusions All preparations techniques leave considerable portion of the canals untouched by instruments. Conclusions: The effectiveness of irrigating solution and cutting efficiency was better for quantec instruments and at any rate with EDTA. Friction and stress of instruments rotating are less when is used a viscosous solution. | ||
